Since time immemorial, Art has been a way for the world to express itself. From cave paintings to the art galleries and museums we have today – humans have told stories through their art for as long as they have existed. Old and contemporary art, both have been a powerful tool in challenging social norms, and serving as a platform for resistance, change, as well as personal expression. Art is not only to be admired for its colours or techniques, but for the message it brings, the story it tells. Art has been a very empowering tool for many, and it has furthered empowerment for many others.
Despite this, there is only a small section of society that has the resources to practice or study Art. Buying art supplies and receiving formal training is a luxury. And in this process, becoming an artist becomes a very unattainable dream for many underserved children. These children have real experiences to share that may serve as powerful testimonies which eventually challenge the status quo. Through art, these children can express their hopes for the future, their dreams for the world around them
This initiative was built with the aim of bringing this form of expression to all kids - despite their background. Art is a powerful tool that all must have access to - a place where all voices are celebrated.
